My NEW TEGUS

redlizard5 Jul 20, 2009 10:20 PM

I just picked up two extreme giants about two weeks ago ,in hope to breed the female with my red male in a few years. I have noticed that my male though a bit older is MUCH larger than my female Is this normal ?
They both pound down what ever i put in from of them.Mice pinky rats ,liver ,roaches ,chicks ,super worms ,grapes banana, melon you name it .
They are super tame and love being held ,I cant wait to move them to the new cage that I am now building for them.
I will post pics soon

Well, a lot of factors go into the size of tegus.

One could have hibernated, one could eat more, have warmer temps, etc. Typically males have a stockier thicker body compared to females.
