Worried about Bonnie

Boost Jul 22, 2009 08:31 PM

I've noticed that Bonnie hasn't been doing well, loss of weight and not eating. Nothing has changed with temperatures, lighting, or diet, I have been bathing her regularly since her decline. What I did notice today was a bulging vent, it is larger than normal, any clues and what can possibly done??

It sounds like she is trying to lay eggs. Do you have a nest area with a few inches of moist sand available to her?

No she hasn't been gravid for a very long time now, she had her clutch back in May. Can I manipulate/massage the vent area as I have her soaking now she is trying to get whatever is blocking her from taking a dump, out.

Boost, I think she is trying to push out an egg. She might have laid in may, but my girls have laid three or four more clutches since then. The warm bath should help, and she might be past the point that moist sand will help, but I would give her a lay box or nest area.

Ok thanks

Did she pass the mass/egg?

She's still working on it and another warm bath.
