How did everyone do this year?

AllanBartlett Jul 23, 2009 05:11 AM

This forum is slower than ever right now. How was everyone's year so far? The socal heatwave in January messed my colony up(at least that's who I am scapegoating for my lack of success this year).

I am hoping that some breeders will have eggs hatching soon so we can see some new posts! I only had three knob eggs for the year but hope to have a good batch of z eggs next year. Most I talk to had a rough year with their clutches. Lots of slugs. Strange.

Yeah, the global warming seems to have taken effect, at least this past winter. I'm going all the way with a wine cooler.....dependency on outdoor temps just isn't reliable anymore. Not the way it used to be..... *sigghhh* And remember when a cup of coffee was just a nickel and we had to walk 10 miles to school? (insert wheezing cough...) LOL...

I tried the wine cooler for a year. It worked, but it wasn't foolproof. I had about 50% fertility and one of my nicest females died immediately after warming her up. After that happened, I got superstitious and ditched the wine cooler. I'm not saying it doesn't work, but I'm gonna stay doing what I've done the last few years.
