Light Cycle for Candoia Aspera?

viper8red Jul 23, 2009 03:10 PM

What kind of light cycle should I use for Candoia Aspera. I know they probably don't need a lot of light considering they are usually in the forest floor and love to bury themselves but i'm thinking they need some UV light, correct? How much and for how many hours should they get sunlight?

Thanks

No need for a UV light, but it won't hurt either. Wow, this forum is lively huh? LOL!

well if I decide to use one, how many hours should it be on for?

You can run a typical light cycle, you can correspond it to your light cycle....if you're getting 14 hours of sunlight for example, run 14 hours light/10 hours dark. If you want to go all out, you can pay attention to the light cycles of the animals natural habitat and try to mimic that. As winter approaches you'll run less light, more dark simulating breeding season light cycles, which you can also mix with your seasonal cooling. Hope that makes sense.
