Easier/Cheaper to purchase or build...

an uber lizard habitat??

I've been kicking around the idea of building a central multi-unit lizard habit. Looking at the costs of building something bigger, better, newer and well they are very expensive. Comparing pricing on some of the fancier habitats out there well they are easily the price of a small car.

My reasons for considering such a project:

1. I get to build it to my specs, look, and feel.

2. Lol, my wife wants an hd flat panel large screen TV where my collared lizards are currently housed.

So any opinion and advice is welcome.

Your best bet might be to steal ideas from a more extensively-kept species that has similar habitat requirements. I mean, even if only one out of a thousand keepers go all out and do that kind of thing, just think about how many thousands of people there are that are into, for example, bearded dragons...
