What kind of lizard is this?

jeffharding Aug 07, 2009 05:14 PM

This guy hitched a ride on some furniture my landlord bought from the valley in Southern california. We live in Hermosa Beach, which is alot cooler temperature-wise, so I want to make sure he gets the right environment setup. If I could identify him, I could look up a care sheet

Here he/she is -

Sorry about the quality of the pics, he's in an old 20 gallon long tank for now.

Let me know if you need more pics for a correct ID

Thanks

From my research, it seems looks like a Colorado River Tree Lizard. Does this sound right? Any idea about the care for this guy?

Western Fence Lizard (Sceloporus occidentalis)

Very common lizard in S California. They are commonly known by the slang term "blue-belly".

just keep it at room temperature and feed it crickets and you should be fine.

I would have to agree with the fence lizard answer,I think the males usually have bluer bellies than the females.
