Nice lizard!

I heard of someone recently who is incubating a clutch of albino blues...but I'll have to let them make their own announcement!

TimS Aug 11, 2009 12:49 PM

awesome i cant wait for this person to post pics and let every1 know.

laurarfl Aug 12, 2009 09:34 AM

I'm pretty sure they will be advertised on kingsnake.

It's the first clutch I have heard of in quite a while.

i cant wait for the day to get a het/poss het albino. Im not to sure how the genetics all work in tegus but i cant wait to start breeding them. My albino blue has been such a joy to work with, even with bad vision she is such a sweet animal. I am pretty sure the extend of my tegu breeding is going to be just the one pair of blues and one day i would love to get a argentine B&W just as a pure pet. I am mostly a snake person but there are a few lizards out there that i just have to have.

They are just so darn expensive (he albinos)! But if you breed them it would cover your investment...obviously. The only problem with buying a hatchling is trying to get a particular sex.

Good luck to you! Maybe something in Daytona?

TimS Aug 13, 2009 10:05 AM

I am hoping to find something at daytona but who knows. I may get distracted since this will be my first year going to the show
yeah the albinos are expensive but i got a pretty good deal for my girl but i think that is because she has a slight nose/mouth goof that whom i got her from didn't say anything about.

Anywhos take care im off to go feed the beast aka Venus the albino goofy blue lol

Did you see the albino at the show? What did you think of it? I thought of your thread when I saw it along with the clutch of baby blues.

It wasn't Kelly who had the blue tegus by chance? Anything else cool at the show?

laurarfl Aug 25, 2009 09:23 AM

Who is Kelly working with...company name? That might trigger my memory a bit.

I was there on Sun afternoon so I just saw the leftovers. I only saw the one albino, a clutch of blues, a few gold hatchlings, a few red hatchlings, some B/W hatchlings, a B/W adult, and a pair of B/W yearlings.

Other than the tegus, the Phillipine dragons were there again. Tom Crutchfield had a nice blue iguana. A few chams and beardies, frogs. The rest seemed to be wall-to-wall balls and corns.

Blue ghost reptile is the name of kelly's company. he had a few red tegu babies there and some pics of his blues and albino's. We picked up a female blue albino from ryan at underground reptile. he also had the blues hatching right out of the eggs at the show. very cool to see.

laurarfl Aug 26, 2009 08:22 AM

It must have been him. I don't know him and the name doesn't sound familiar. I was there Sun and there was a tank of baby blues and one albino adult. He was in the corner by the ladies room and some tanks and driftwood stuff.

WC3 Aug 26, 2009 03:46 PM

No, it wasn't Kelly. I talked to him last night. It must have been underground.

TimS Aug 28, 2009 12:39 PM

think and feel about underground reptiles? they have male poss het blue that im thinking about getting. and was curious as to your input on how happy you were with your purchase and health of animal etc

ageber Sep 09, 2009 01:51 PM

hi tim
our albino tegu from the underground is doing great. very active, eating like a pig. he told us when we got her that he took her back from a customer so he could not be sure how handleable she was or how well cared for. He was very informative with us. I loved the large snow albino males he had but my budget would have been broken. he did offer me a good deal though because i bought a number of animals from him. he was a great guy to talk with and i would certainly do business again with him. if i had the room and the money i would take the albino male on kingsnake from him.

TimS Aug 28, 2009 12:41 PM

i seen one pair of albino blues there and the male to me looked a lil beat up and run down but i guess i just have super high standards when it comes to things, tho still looked healthy.

I didnt see much at the show, i was only ther sat and got in late and barely had enough time to get through the show just barely giving everything a once over, it was walk walk browse snap pic repeat

toms blue and albino iguana were just AMAZING to see in person omg
