i just got out my mealworms and found millions of little white bugs. I want to know if there are such things as bug mites. I always just thought reptile mites were just black. They were kept in close proximity of my reptile collection, but I do not believe my reptiles have mites that I am aware of. what are these bugs? thanks brandon

I call them mill mites or flour mites...they eat the bedding/food...

clean out the whole colony and set the big ones up again....

is it mealworms? or a breeding colony of beetles and worms?....if it's a colony of beetles...set up all beetles in one tub, big mealworms in another, and save the mite infested stuff because there are eggs and really small mealworms in it all, and sifting it is too hard, they are too small to find...

if just mealworms...start over...new food ,new veggies or whatever......mites cover everything in the world , there is a mite eating and on everything....(yes you too are covered in mites ,all over).....you just saw them explode in numbers.....kinda like humans are doing to the Earth,......
