We have an ant colony somewhere in our yard. I was thinking of getting a horned lizard and just feed it with ants from our backyard but i'm not sure if they are harvester ants. they are those red ants that bites.

You need to take a pic OR get a really good look at them then search for ant pics online. Black Larger yard ants seem to be okay.
Red/orange ants may be fire ants, which you can't feed.
And you might destroy the colony of ants in your yard if you get 30-40 ants a day that an HL requires to eat daily.
