Normal crested gecko sounds?

blenderhead Sep 23, 2009 07:33 AM

Is it normal for crested geckos to sometimes grunt/squeak when they're picked up or held tightly?

This question stems from the fact that my ball python has a respiratory infection, and I'm quite afraid of Sid catching it, despite being diligent about washing my hands/arms after holding the snake. What are the signs of a RI in crested geckos? Can crested geckos even catch a RI from a snake?

I think some are more vocal than other and will let you know they are bothered especially if they haven't been handled much.I rarely hear mine make asound for months at a time.I also think they may pic up a ri like anything else which may be noticed by labored breathing, weight loss, lethargy, like any other animal.
