Breeding Question

Zein Sep 25, 2009 02:57 AM

A couple months ago, I planned on getting a male blizzard corn and a female of what I thought was a reverse okeetee morph (Image shown below). However, my boy died after getting compacted, and now I'm wondering would it even be worth going through? I'm not exactly made of money and I'd rather not get stuck with babies that won't sell. So I've got two questions.

What morph of corn is this?

What would a blizzard and this morph throw?

(And unless I get some form of reassurance, I won't go back to that website to get snakes.)

Sorry to hear that you lost the male. Unfortunately, these things happen.

The snake in the picture looks like a hatchling to me. It's definitely not a reverse okeetee, which would have pink eyes and fairly wide white outlines around the red blotches on the back. I'm not certain what it is. At first, I thought a normal, but the ground color is too light. Possibly it's a Miami phase.

A blizzard is amelanistic and charcoal. Both of those mutants are recessive to the normal versions of the two mutant genes. I would not cross a blizzard to the snake in the picture because some, and very likely all, of the babies would be normals, possibly with a Miami phase influence.

I'd cross a blizzard to either a blizzard or a charcoal that was het amelanistic.

blizzard X blizzard produces all blizzard babies.

blizzard x charcoal het amelanistic (AKA charcoal het blizzard) is expected to produce
1/2 blizzard
1/2 charcoal het amelanistic

Good luck.
