Hi,
I just got a small ficus for a panther Im getting. The soil has perlite in it and Im afraid of accidental ingestion so I wanted to replant it. I already have some all organic planting soil but it has lime stone in it. Is limestone dangerous for chameleons or am I alright?
Better safe than sorry.

The simple solution is to sprinkle a layer of soil WITHOUT visible perlite or limestone on the surface so it doesn't attract your cham's attention. Or, you can cover the soil surface with window screen held down with river stones too large for him to eat. Whether the soil below the surface has perlite isn't the issue, and in fact it will help your plants drain better.
