VERY unusual female juvie!

rosebuds Sep 30, 2009 08:08 PM

This little girl is definitely a keeper! She just shed about a week or so ago, so that light coloring is her! But look at her sides! She is one of Tayo and Momasita's kids, so she is one of the fancies from Artesia NM. Are those black side blotches unusual for Easterns??

Hi Donna, your baby is a very pretty girl for darn sure.

The splotches are seen on some of the New Mexico Fancys, I have a few with them. So to answer your question , yes some have them. Here is an adult female that has the black spotches on her sides.

And what a gorgeous girl she is, Eve! These NM fancies are really something!

Here are my little fancy girl's parents
Handsome Tayo

Precious Mamasita!

She laid 5 clutches, and I was so glad that she reabsorbed her 6th! Out of those clutches, there are several that are fairly normal looking, but there are several others that are very different from each other and not typical.

What looks really unusual is the sort of tortoise comb pattern covering her back!

That is an awesome pattern. I hope to get some of those someday.
