Cute chuckwalla photo overload..

RioBravoReptiles Oct 01, 2009 04:33 PM

Ok! .. the chuck at left is an adult male, he's observing a recently hatched family member chowing on some weeds..
.

.
.. now look at this image.. can you see what's going on?
.

.
.. that's one of the female breeders with a couple of neonates.. here's a closer look..
.

.
This next image is of a BRAND NEW chuckwalla..
.

.
.. this is an adult male being lazy (Chucks are real slackers)
.

.
.. here's a mob of these going after some Coreopsis..
.

.
.. chuckwallas are great fun.. and will teach you a lot about nature and seasons and gardening too!.. if you are willing.. But don't get one if you are not ready to give them exactly what they need for a long time (I have a chuck that is at least 17 years old!)..
.
Thanks!

Great pictures! Love the pictures of the babies next to the adults. Do you keep them all together or do you house the babies by themselves?

NEVER!

Great pics! I assume those plants don't grow in the enclosure because they would eat them. Do you put bunches in there each day?

You're right.. the chucks bite off practically everything that sprouts (and that's a lot with all the flowers they eat).. I have plots of those weeds (and others) and I give them most all they will eat.. natural food doesn't make them fat as some prepared diets will..

.
.. here's more of those guys..

Thanks!
