I caught my rosies mating several times in May and she seems to be gravid, but I am not 100% sure she is gravid, it's her first so it's hard to tell, but she only hangs out under her basking lamp for the past week or so, she has gone opaque. Do you think she is gravid? How long is the gestation period? I just am starting to get worried. Any help is appreciated!

Rosy boa gestation is about 130 days, but can vary depending on things like temperature, when they actually ovulated, etc.

Also, gravid female’s will usually move off of the heat source 1-2 weeks before delivery and may become more active.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, she is still hanging out in the heat source and she is currently shedding her skin. I will look for that!

I would guess that she had her babies already by now if she did actually ovulate at the time you noticed the breeding. One thing you can do to check to see if she is gravid is use a temp gun and measure her body temp. IF she measures 88 degrees near where the babies would be (back 1/3 approx.) then she is gravid. If she is only somewhere between 82-85 she most likely would not be gravid. Make sure she has a heat pad underneath her tank so she can absorb the heat through her belly. I would not use a heat lamp only, If you use a heat lamp or light to help keep the hot side of the tank at about 92-93 that would be okay but I would recommend using a under tank heat pad of some kind. Rosys absorb most of their heat through their belly. Good luck with her and her babies..
