As usual, that's another fine set of photos, Mr. Eby.
It's interesting that a Garter would be hanging out with a Racer.
Maybe it was too cold to get eaten?
A couple of those Garters look anerythristic.
I liked the wide-stripe Plains and the high-red Red-sideds.

There isnt alot of racers arround that area, but when I see them there its usually in the spring or fall hanging out near garter dens.

Dan,

Excellent photos, thanx for sharing. Did you find any melanistics this year ? Unfortunately mine did not breed this year.

Hey Scott,

Thanks! No I didnt find any melanistics, but I didnt go to my melanistic spot too many times either. I do know of another population of them now though that I'll be looking for a little bit next season. A new friend of mine found a couple of them about 100 or so miles away from where I find them.

these photos are stunning. That vagrans that is a very pale gray... what a stunning snake! I would LOVE to acquire a vagrans like that!

I know what you mean, that thing is awesome! I kinda wish I would have taken it home too, same with the last one with all the yellow.
