Rubber Babies!!

hum707 Oct 22, 2009 09:18 AM

Hi everyone! I just produced my first litter of rubbers and was excited to find my female had 7 of the little buggers in there. The only thing is that a few of them have kinks just above the cloaca. Is there some sort of reasoning for this. My temps did get a little high for a day towards the end of her cycle due to some weird weather we our having.
Thanks all and have a great day
Brian from the Redwoods.

Congratulations on the new babies.
Depending on how bad the kinks are they will often times work themselves out on their own over a few weeks or more.

Brian;
Having a female Rubber Boa produce a litter this late in the year is exceedingly uncommon. It has been my experience that vertebral kinks occur in neonates when temperatures remain too high during part of the gestation period.
