FALSE GAVIALS

TOM_CRUTCHFIELD Oct 24, 2009 04:58 AM

I thought I would post a couple of old pics I came across to spice things up a bit. First is "Tommy" my original male False Gavial that I got in the 1970's and raised from a 3' youngster to the 13' plus croc in the pic. I understand that today he is MUCH larger still at Alligator Adventure In Myrtle Beach, S. C.. Next is the head of a MONSTER at the Duiset Zoo in Bangkok and I hate to guess how big but I'm thinking over 16' long..Anyway hope you enjoy the pics...

Hi Tom,

I was just at Alligator Adventure a few weeks ago, Tomistoma's look great and Dr. Sam Seashole, Flavio, and I will be planning to go to Thailand in September 2010, and visit Uthen Youngprapakorn. Are you interested in joining in the trip?

Yes, actually I would. I promised Uthen I would go this fall and my schedule prevents it so that would be perfect. Also I have two long time friends and breeders from the Phillipines and China you guys should meet. One breeds V. olivacious and the other every RARE venomous snake you can imagine from China....Thanks...Both wanted to meet me in Bangkok and then have me go visit them which you are welcome to do also if you wish...

I have a recent picture of that guy around here somewhere. I have a bunch of hard drives laying around and not all of them work anymore. Hopefully I can find the pictures on a good drive. If I am remembering correctly he is close to 18 feet long now. I know he eats chickens with gusto.
