You need a basking spot around 90-95 an ambient temp around 80-85 and a cool spot around 75-80 in the enclosure.
Try feeding frogs, lizards, crickets, pinky mice etc one of them may work.
If you are new to keeping snakes I would suggest letting the racer go and getting a cornsnake.

thanks, i have a hot side and cool side im not sure of the temps though because i dont have a cage thermometer. and i tried a baby brown anole and he or she ate. o and by the im not new to snakes i have a yellow rat, cal king, florida water snake, florida king, jungle carpet python, two honduran milksnakes, and the racer. also ive caught many snakes before including a copperhead, and on top of that i just turned thirteen october 7th.
Good like with the Racer, you've got him/her to eat so you must be doing something right.
Jeremy
P.S. Some people just think they can tell everyone what to do.
