What Type of Micro Lens?

SandBoaMorphs Oct 28, 2009 09:45 AM

I've been looking at micro lens to purchase for a cannon 50D. I really don't want one of the super large ones because they require a tripod and apparently are slow to focus.

Does anyone use a micro lens to take shots of their snakes and if so which one(s) do you recommend?

I just use a 28-80mm lens with magnifying filters for most of my close up stuff, but I don't tend to take very good photos (no patience). The majority of my friends that shoot wildlife photography use a 100mm macro lens. I suppose it all depends on the subject(s) you want to photograph.
