MayhemProtocol Oct 28, 2009 06:04 PM

I have an anole that I caught way back in March and have had in good heatj till now. Here in Texas it is starting to get much cooler and curious to know if Anoles Hybernate? Is there anything I should do to prepare the habitat for cooler tempertures?

Thanks for any info ^^

I would keep green anoles at slightly lower temps in the winter but brown anoles like it hot year round only cooling to stop egg laying.I guess no would be the answer to your question.

Thanks for the info. It is a wild anole and to my knowledge I have never seen any out durring the winter. It can get to freezing tempertures here in Northen Texas. My anole is more brown then green lately and I was getting concerned. ^^

No. They simply find a protected place like a cave or rock crevice. They will come out to sun and hunt for food on sunny, mild winter days -even at the northernmost parts of their range.
