ACF keepers - question on tank limits

tcdrover Oct 29, 2009 04:44 PM

I remember keeping the smaller variety as a kid and I loved those
little frogs.

I'm getting ready to set up a 40 gallon breeder tank with some
african clawed frogs. I'm getting the larger kind.

How many do you think would comfortably fit in there?

Do the males ever fight?

There are 3 different color varieties, right?

Is there a good sex ratio to use?

I thought I'd get 2 males for every female. I'd like to hear as
much chirping as possible.

If you are getting African Clawed Frogs, then you can have four in that tank. They need ten gallons per frog minimum.

There are several color variations as well as a couple of species in the pet trade now.
