pet shops selling mice as rats

Lenrely Nov 18, 2009 02:31 PM

Has this happened to anyone else? I was at a shop that for some reason no longer carries frozen rats (I bought the last one weeks ago), I selected some regular mice and the manager tried to charge me $4 apiece. She said to my face 3 times that they were rats, even though they have live rats in stock. "THESE are the mice" she declared, and handed me a bag of identical mice. She then told her assistant they were out of mice now and had to order more (there were about a hundred marked as rats). Do you think a wholesaler swindled them into paying more, or even getting the wrong shipment would fool the whole staff that has been there for years?

It is all about the money. Mice sell for $1.50 each and rats $4.00 each think of the money the store will make. The manager just whats the money.
