I have a hood on top of my turtle tank. They are waters turtles. It has that plastic strip in front of the light. I have a zoo med reptisun 10.0 fluorescent bulb does the plastic strip in front on the light effect the uv rays going to my turtles? Also which light is better a reptisun 5.o uvb bulb or the 10.0 fluorescent bulb? I have 30 and 20 gal tanks. Thanks!

Yes, the pane of plastic will affect the amount of UV light that passes through to the turtles. Get the 10 bulb- it will give out more UV light. The 5's are good for herps that live in the jungle.
