turtles and alligators

Yes, They are compatible if they have enough room to get away from each other and the sizes are right, but do not trust a rare or expensive turtle as things do happen. This turtle lived for three years with four 6/7 footer alligators and one day she was gone. Completely gone! Also remember that bigger turtles eat little gators, especially tails and toes.

We have tried to have red eared sliders in with our gators. They wont last till the next day, and they have a lot of room. The gators are 9-10 feet though.
We had a very big slider in with our biggest black caiman 13,5 feet. it lasted a week. The slider was sort of a test turtle, to see if the caiman saw it as food. The plan was to keep podocnemis expansa with the black caimans, we have dropped that plan

I have two FL cooters in our alligator pond. They help keep things clean. They are named "Chip" and "Nip". LOL
I worked at a zoo that had 3 alligator snapping turtles in the alligator enclosure. They seemed to get along okay.
