About to breed my ETB's Any Advice?

morrokko Dec 11, 2009 07:39 PM

Hello!
So ive had 2 big girls for a while, one ive had a year, she is breeding size, but not huge. The other girl is a monster, ive never seen an ETB so big in my life!
So i thought it was time to get a male.

The male arrived safe and sound this morning on my door stop. He is beautiful and ready to breed.
I will give him a month or so to just calm down and aclimate to his new home, but then i want to introduce him to my monster girl.

Any advice for a new ETB breeder?

Thanks!!!
Laura

I'll try this again... my first post got deleted some how.. anyways, I would strongly suggest you give the new male you have at least 6 months to a year before you start introducing him to the animals you already have. I am not sure if this new male you got is WC or LTC or CBB... regardless, if it has had a prior history of regurgitation ( AKA ERS-emerald regurgitation syndrome) and you plunk it in with one or both of your healthy beautiful females.... well you might as well kiss them good bye... ERS is very contagious and if you put a male in with them after only owning him for roughly a month, you are asking for trouble.

Do yourself a favor and just keep everyone separate, keep a watchful eye on the new male, and if all is well, breed them next year...

Hope this helps and good luck...

Rob
