Mine are safe! LOL. Just a bit off topic for the heck of it. My Scrubs are going at it again for the third time! Been removing the male for 3 day intervals and reintroducing them in the evening. Action commences after the temps warm back up into the 80s from a NTL of 72.

OMG that was an old pic from a jam cam! It is actually from my dogs first meeting with an iguana. He still likes the lizards better than small snakes. My carpets are a little freaky to him as they move faster than the average ball or burm he was used to.

Not Terriers next to an obviously stressed Iguana. Its too bad, this forum used to be a great source of species specific information. I think I saw someone post a pic of their Sig Sauer, all be it a nice side arm and choice of caliber, WTF place does this have in a herp website? Please be kind to your captive herps.

Yep, it's a Sig. No need to get your panties up in a bunch. Who are you to decide what's good or not good for a herp forum? It's nice to be able to talk about other things here and there.

actually thats a big part of making the herp community a community, these "off topic" discussions... how else are you going to get to know the people that share your hobbies

i myself find that the off topic threads are the commonly most fun

Hey Cindy!

Love that Bully pictured! Very nice head! Hopefully my male is FINALLY old enough to be dominant enough to "do the deed"! If not, we'll do the insemination thing once then neuter them both. Dealing w/heat cycles and indoor dogs is getting really old!

I've got a pic somewhere with our rott staring at one of the ball pythons with a serious what the heck look on his face but I couldn't find it. Oh, my house is definitely on guard...as long as the robber doesn't break in with a Hoover--then we're screwed. Nothing like watching a 120lb dog run from from a vacuum but wants to take a chunk out of the garbage man, lol.

Ohhh Mine try to eat the vacuum. What kills me is my AB will sniff everything but small colubrids... A king skunked him with its tail up his nose once. He has since shown preference for pythons. Because I do rescue work with both bullies and reptiles, my dogs MUST be tolerant of the reptiles and able to do public rescue events with them.

Here is my three pack

TimS Jan 08, 2010 04:39 PM

ok well not my dog but my brothers that I want to steal from him but his 4 year old daughter wont let me. pit lab shepard mix. if your a stranger trying to get in house he WILL get you lol otherwise he is just a big teddybear.

I STRONGLY beleive on a dogs behavior is about how one is raised not the breed. great post a lil offtopic talk always keeps things interesting in a forum.

nekomi Feb 06, 2010 11:00 PM

We have a team of 3 sled dogs who guard our snake room... on their free time, of course!

And it's also guarded by one wolfdog, who would make anyone think twice about breaking and entering - but is actually a huge, loveable goof.

Is that a Mal? And I hope your community has supplied your security with a Vest!

Yes it's a Mal. And vests are actually not good investments for K9's. They slow them down, overheat them and take away the tactical advantage of a K9. The physical limits it puts on a dog are more likely to put a dog in danger than it would be in without a vest. While ballistic vest are a nice sentiment for Dogs they truly are just that. It gives people the warm fuzzies to donate towards purchasing them for the dogs that serve their community but it really isn't all that helpful. Maybe in the future they will develop a vest that doesn't limit the tactical advantage of a K-9 but they haven't yet.

PHFaust Mar 06, 2010 11:13 PM

Wow I had no clue!

Now how shocked are you that I knew it was a mal?

I actually work in rescue and work heavily with the bully breeds. I get the same happiness when folks know my American bulldog is an american bulldog and not a "Pit Bull"

Know what you mean about misidentifying. For your breed of choice it is a bad thing to be confused with other breeds. For Malinois it's a good thing to be obscure...Lest they become victim to a popularity spike and go the way of the German Shepherd. Unpopular and obscure means more closely controlled breeding, better quality dogs produced... But you're right, it is nice every once and awhile to have some know he's a mal.
