Can anyone help me to ID this big toad, photographed at night in maranhão (North-Eastern brazil)?

Looks like a big fat marinus. Paracmensis gets that big too, but as far north as you are I'd say it's got to be marinus.
I hope your cat wasn't licking it.

yea that is deffinatley a bufo marinus
i own 1 as a pet and he is huge and will eat anything u put in his cage
keep ur cat away from him cuz if he feels threatened he oozes white poison out and will screw ur cat up reallly bad

u can milk it by squeezin the glands but make sure u point it away as u squeeze cuz it shoots out

Yes definitely a bufo marinus aka cane toad, and a very nice one at that.

Intentional milking them is considered unethical by most keepers since there is no practical reason to do so.
