Where do you nice people get your indigo

ralphywiggums Jan 06, 2010 02:24 PM

I am having such difficulty even noticing a place where these eastern indigoes can be found. How do you all have them and so many of them and where do all the youngins' go? I have had totally zero luck finding a breeder to sell. Whats the deal? I have a Balll pyhton for the past 3 years and have a new tank ready for my indigo. Consider yourselves lucky.signed--an unlucky snake wanter.

You should find them readily available via various forums, in the want ads of kingsnake.com etc. Further, you might PM folks who post here for specific referrals. Good luck, they are a lot of fun, but quite a bit different than keeping a Ball python, so keep learning all you can on the forums. Vic

I sent messages to a few people in my state who have them, asking where they got their snakes. From them I got the names of a few breeders and feedback on the breeders as well.

I happened to luck out and one guy who I messaged was tentatively looking for a home for his. We talked for awhile and I wound up getting a killer deal on an unbelievable animal.

I bought a fantastic pair of Easterns from Robert Bruce out in California. They are VERY nice animals. He always has a few pairs or singles around for sale, if you do a search for him on Youtube you'll see his animals. They're not the cheapest on the net... but the quality is exceptional, in my opinion! Dan

Sorry to burst your bubble but they're illegal in New Jersey. I know I'm bummed too. They are the coolest snakes. I'm in NJ too.

ralphywiggums Jan 08, 2010 05:52 PM

I heard u just need a permit

stape61 Jan 08, 2010 06:23 PM

A permit is needed when you are sending an Indigo from a state that allows them to another state that allows them. Example PA to CA. A permit is not needed if purchasing within a state that allows them. Example PA to PA. NJ does not allow them like everything else NJ does not allow. I mean we're not even allowed to pump our own gas. I researched this over and over. NJ does not allow them. If they did I would have owned them years ago.

No, this cant be true. there is a large breeder in new jersey that breeds texas indigo, rubidus, unicolor, yellowtail, and Black tail cribos. Im not saying any names, but I know this for a fact!

KenC Jan 09, 2010 09:51 AM

Eastern Indigos are illegal in NJ. Not al drymarchon.

tokaysrnice Jan 09, 2010 10:44 PM

He does breed everything else though, you can keep any but the Eastern's.

Get some Rubidus from him and don't look back!
