efnick Jan 08, 2010 07:33 PM

just wondering what local or color morph this girl would be considered (approx. one year old)

and also, do babies all start out brown and turn red, or are the red adults red as babies too (talking about sumatran)

That's a yellow/brown Blood Python.

At a year old with those colors, I'd expect them to stay that way and just darken up a bit with age.

At about 18 months old you can get a pretty good idea of what they're going to do color wise.

From the looks of that animal, I'd say it's going to stay pretty close to those colors as an adult.

How old is it?

pretty good looking yellow you got there! Bloods coloration can change a lot over the first few years. In general good looking reds as adults are going to be red as babies. With yellow phase bloods they can be redish as babies but usually carry more yellow and brown overtones. If there going to be good looking yellows as adults, which yours looks like its on his way, They will lose the red and some of the brown & continue to get lighter and better with age. He looks a lot bigger than just a year did you buy him as a baby or aquire him later?
