I've been using an undertank heat pad for years now. Just wondering if I should switch to a ceramic heat emitter. I have UVB tubes and basking bulb. Substrate is repti-carpet and millet.Tank is a 50L breeder. Just thinking some changes may or may not be for the better. Responses and opinions are always of value.

Thanks,
Laura (Hazlet N.J.)

In the wild, where do they gather their warmth, above or below? I believe they're geared for dorsal heat absorption. Just me thoughts.

I tend to agree. They receive heat from above from the sun. Their back coloration appears to be able to change to increase/deflect the suns rays as needed. I am sure they get warmth from the heated ground around them, but its mainly an ambient temp/sunlight related heat source.
