my newest addition- sid (vicious). he has an attitude and i believe he is an import. he was basically rescued from a store that was selling him as a Sinatra Python for $200. they wouldnt even let me see him until i promised id buy him with no returns because "he bites lots", which he does! had no heat and lots o fleas.

needless to say, i didnt pay full asking price. im working with him on the attitude, and he is beautiful.

Good thing you rescued him! Doesn't say much for that store, though. Doesn't sound like they had a clue about husbandry. Fortunately he doesn't have a respiratory infection too. Is he eating yet?

Best of luck with Sid!

yes, he ate a big mouse yesterday.

First time I've heard someone call em a "Sinatra" Python hahah

Hope he calms down for you and becomes an animal your glad to have in your collection.

These animals really are a neat species to keep.

Totally agree with you. Bloods are great animals. I have one that was really jumpy at first. Not a biter but just nervous. Now, I make a point to at least touch him every day, and I hold him a couple times a week. The nervousness is almost completely gone. Sometimes he doesn't even huff any more.

Interaction is key with these guys, I think. And consistency, too. You might be able to turn the corner with Sid.

Best of luck!

Ya know I have wracked my brain for the past few days. I wonder if they meant to say Sumatra python?

Welcome to the joys of blood pythons. I would say you can probably offer something larger than mouse.

this is true, but im trying to take it easy on his digestion right now. id like to make sure hes got no digestive issues from sitting cold for so long and according to them, he ate at that temp too, so who knows what rotting deep down in his gut?

thanks! -Nick.

I have no doubt in my mind that that's what they meant Cindy.

Their pure ignorance to what their even called leads me to believe the OP about the people keeping it in improper temperatures.

You should have named him Frank, since he is a Sinatra Python.
