Male or Female?

nchernandez44 Jan 29, 2010 05:40 PM

Can anyone tell me if this is a male or female. The gecko is about 8 months old and this is the best pic i have. Im thinking of purchasing it but i dont need another male. Any help would be appreciated.

That's a tough call..i'm having the same issues. The best way is to get a sexing loupe and check for preanal pores. males will have 2 rows of them.

It is really a crapshoot when it comes to cresteds when they are at that stage. It *looks* to me from the shot that you may have a possible male..but there is no guarantee on that pic. Maybe an underside pic may clear things up a bit.

It looks female...but at 8 months..I wouldn't take the chance if you really only want a female. Males can 'drop' at 9 or 10 months of age.
