Breeding Question

LightsOut Feb 02, 2010 02:29 AM

I am the owner of a breeding pair of SHTCT. I am wanting to purchase a female albino to produce Sunglows. What is the best type of albino to produce really bright, patternless, carrothead sunglows? Tremper, Bell, Patternless, Carrothead...? Also, what is the difference between Sunglows and APTORS? Thanks everyone.

Well, you are correct that there are many different directions you can go with on this. I think you will find that the majority of the really nice looking Sunglows you see are bred from nice SHTCTs and nice Tremper albinos or with aptor/Raptors. It really depends on the funds you have available to start with. Realize that SHTCT x albino babies will need to be bred back to mom or dad the second year to get Sunglows.

In my experience, the best looking sunglows come from pairings of SHCT Baldies and Tremper albinos, though certainly APTORS and other albinos have viable chances of producing good looking sunglow offspring.
