Strange noise from my Jungle Carpet

I have a jungle carpet and several times today and recently he opens his mouth and makes a loud noise while exhaling. Like a "hacking" noise? Anyone ever experienced this? He is acting fine otherwise and no new changes. Thanks!

This is obviously a respiratory issue and either a precursor to, or an actual RI. Up the humidity to between 70 and 80% and if no improvement is seen in a few days a vet visit is probably in order. What is your temp range currently?
