Stumbled across this on the web.

If you look close it has black spots on the belly and legs I def dont think its albino. Caiman can be very light.

i would put money on that being a albino that is stained or covered in muck. I have gotten in alot of w/c albino turtles that look like that until they get a nice cleaning. but hey what do i know about albinos, i only have or had over 50 different species of albino animals from salamanders to alligators.

also since there has been over 30 albino caiman found or hatched just this year a albino caiman was hatched on a farm in columbia there is a video of it on you tube.

Well, I know a LOT about albino's too and that ain't an albino Caiman. I shipped one albino Caiman to Utai at Samut Prakan back in the early 80's [actually Gary Bagnell did] but I set the whole thing up. I've seen many Caiman light brown like that one. It's nothing more than a light colored Caiman.....Uthen has hundreds of snow white porosus with black spots but their not albino's either. I believe I have pics of those on my website...

As you know Uthen offered to give me some False Gavials that his father and my old friend Utai wanted to present as a gift to me. I reluctantly refused because it would be unlikely I could get the import permit...

The one I had was bought at TG&Y STORE FORE 1 DOLLAR AND 50 CENTS for my 8th birthday.I picked it out of a batch of dark ones.Over the years I have scene a few like it.I was once told mine was of a dwarf population from mexico.DNA was run and every thing. She laid eggs at 3 foot.I sure miss her as well as the ability to find specticled caimens period.I have a smooth front about 3 years old I would love to trade for a spec.

Yes, I had a 9-10' female called Whitey that belonged to the Gladys Porter Zoo. I bred her several times with Morton and produced over a 100 babies but none were white. It must be a simple reccessive trait like albinism...I returned her back to the Zoo and I believe she's still alive there...
