Has anybody ever tried taming a 2 year old or adult Argentina?
Will they tame down enough to be a pet? Or is is it a waste of time.
Looking for a little experience advice.
Thanks
Rick

i have tamed down an adult red ,that was so aggressive the prior owners took 100 dollars off the price so i would take it .All they did was feed it live prey to see the brutal show .
Now it is the nicest lizard in the world . Magoo now is so tame I use him in presentations for kids parties .
Thank you. I needed to hear that so I don't feel I am waisting my time. I got one of Berts hybrids that is two years old. I won't breed him. I just want to make him dog tame. So far he has been a monster. Maybe I will succeed then.
Would like to hear if others have tamed older tegus!
Thanks again
Rick
All you have to do is make sure you are consistent ,gentle and handle EVERYDAY . .You can put a T-shirt that you has your scent on it and leave it in the enclosure .That way the lizard will associate you with safety . Good luck
Thanks, starting to make progress. He just hisses and throws his
tail now. Does not bite at least. I will do the t-shirt idea and have heard of this before.
He seems to know I won't hurt him. Just wants to be a lizard and left alone. Which that's what he will get when the weather heats up here in Bama.
