o.k., so Im new to breeding, and I have a 3-4yr old female i.j, that has been with a 2yr old male for about the last 2 months( they seemed o.k). I separated them and the female has tripped the light fantastic as far as feeding, she is insatiable eating hands, rats, and mice.well to make long story longer I assume she is bulking up to be gravid or is?( she is pretty round)this is when it gets umm interesting. I reintroduced the male this morning and.......... SHE TRIED TO EAT HIM , SMACK AND WRAP!!!!umm [bleep]!!! i couldnt belive my eyes! well she finally let go and I returned him to his tub:9( any advise, and thanx for your time.

He may have done his thing with her...but I've never heard of carpets doing that. Mine don't, anyway.

it was the craziest thing I had ever seen, i released him in and she spun around and whamo!! and held on for 20-30 sec....anyway I think you are right about being gravid already(fingers crossed) because her appetite is insatiable!!!this is proving to be quite the experience :0]

I've seen other species of snakes attack their mates, but not carpets.

Maybe she had a bad day. BUT, you might try introducing him to her a day or so after a good meal. If the same thing happens, then just keep them apart.

she doesnt seem to get full..........example, 4 mice i med rat, still perched at the glass?!!?......I dont want to over stuff her but..........
