Questions about carpet morphs

Jamesw_Arnold Feb 14, 2010 10:24 AM

I have been looking at investing in some carpet morphs. I really like the granites, jags, and albinos.
When breeding carpets do you frown on breeding different locals together or sub species? Do you try and keep them pure?
From what I’ve researched I see that the granites are from Iran Jaya’s and the Jags and hypos are from Coastals. But where are the albinos and the anerys come from?

Thanks,
James W. Arnold

The albinos are a morph of the Darwin or Northwestern carpet in Oz and the axanthics are a coastal carpet morph.
You are also forgetting the zebra morph in jungle carpet pythons.
There are several people that will breed a morph to another morph to create something new regardless if it is crossing species or subspecies lines. Some of us won't. It really just depends on your perspective and your willingness to honestly represent your offspring.
