sexing tiny kenyans?

megalon Feb 15, 2010 02:24 PM

my son won an anery ksb in a raffle last month, and i have no idea of the sex.it's roughly 8"long.his granpa ended up buying him a normal ksb this weekend, this one is definately female.i don't want to try popping the tiny little anery, and i don't have probes.both ksb's are roughly the same size, btw.are ksbs sexually dimorphic?i know that in some snake, the males will have thicker/longer tails.is this true w/ ksbs?if so,would it be evident when they are this small?i want to sex it,but as gently and noninvasive as possible...

Try flipping them over and comparing the length from the vent to the tip of the tail. Males will be longer from vent to tip while females are shorter. If you don't notice a difference I'd say there the same sex. If you could post a good close up pic we could give you a pretty accurate idea.
