I WONDER WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I PUT MY MALE ISABELS WITH MY FEMALE AUSTRALIS?....MY ISABELS ARE BREEDING NOW, AND I WONDER IF MY MALES WOULD TRY TO BREED THE AUSTRALIS FEMALES....MY AUSTRALIS MALES ARE SHOWING NO ACTIVITY AT ALL...HAVE ANY OF YOU EVER ATTEMPTED CROSS BREEDING CANDOIA?....JERRY

Hi Jerry,

I'm no fan of cross breeding, even morphs make me quite angry!

I have a large vivarium which houses 0.2 adult australis and 2.3 paulsoni (isabels and red) my male australis bred with my female last year in this viv and paid no attention to any other animals.

I have a red male paulsoni who is trying to mate with all 3 female paulsoni at this very moment and completely ignores the australis....

Cheers Matt

Nice animals, i own a couple myself. Are the animals you have, in particular the females, also always hungry? My female eats like a monster and never refuges a meal.

Hi,

Yes the female is a very keen feeder!

Beautiful shots Matt, the second shot in particular could be the sibling of my Fiji boas - I wonder just how close they are genetically? I have heard that it may be possible to get DNA analysis done on freshly shed and properly preserved skins - I'd love to do a comparison.

On the feeding question: of the C bibroni bibroni I have, the females are always the better feeders, the makes much more picky. Must be more sensitive souls, huh?

Same here. The female eats allways, at any time and whatever you give her. The male only wants to eat small mouse and only if I put him overnight in a smaller box with the mouse (f/t).
