I found this Turtle five months ago in Chinatown San Fransisco.
It now lives in my pool with lots of gold fish. Is it a
Common Snapper? If you can ID it, how can I properly take care of it? It survived the winter in my pool. He's pretty tough.

definately not a snapper.just a guess,but i'd say older male red-eared slider.would explain the melanism,the front claws look a little short,though....
