"My fiance had never touched a reptile until she met me now she'll help me tape up a 6 foot alligators jaws if i need her too. It took almost two years but, she knows what im passionate about. So she does what she can. Keep working on her and don't give up and hopfully she will eventually give in and or understad our hobby. Good Luck man!"

now you say it, my wife is not that bad... in my honeymoon we spend a whole day at SAMUTPRAKAN CROCODILE FARM... and she has also helped me to tape some medium size crocs... as you, its been several days, but she knows and understand I love crocs, and hopefully I´ll be able to keep some in my backyard some day (as she sais "in a bulet prof cage" LOL)

cheers

small world ehhh...

they also work with croc skin tom make wallets, belts, shoes... and she told me they use to buy gators in florida to be able to export to US, but not any more...

and Morelet products cant be exported to US because of CITES...

my same problem with dwarf crocs... even try to get them in Africa, but happens the same.. not able because of CITES

cheers

Rick

GLZ Feb 25, 2010 03:33 PM

Yes small world indeed (croc world)

The problem is not with CITES regulations but rather with USFWS and the ESA regulations which are backwards to CITES.

You should be able to get Osteo's from africa to Mexico as long as they are CITES I/D (which is same as CITES II) .... good luck finding a legit seller over there though as 99.9% are fake scammers!

yes man... croc world, small and beautifull world

thanks, thats part of the problem, I´ve done several paper work for dwarfs, but it happens the farms do not exist or just cant be found...

hope some day I´ll get one... and it is kind of a joke, for me it is very easy to get a morelet or an acutus, but not a dwarf croc

I agree, being from the OLD SCHOOL, in the early 2000s this forum was so much more. I posted pics of my seven footer at the time "Brownie", adam was posting more, and of course we had Bill and Smiley. Those were the great days

hbelo Feb 24, 2010 07:21 PM

Well I hope ppl who are serious about Crocodilians start posting, whether its questions or just sharing info or ideas. Like the good old days.

Me and my wife went croc crazy for our honeymoon as well we hit SA zoo to look at tomastoma and then went to snake farm to see the crocs. To top it off she went wadeing in some creeks to try to photograph gators. She is great.I just recently got another caimen after a few years with out any thing with out venom. She loves animals reptiles are new for her but I must say she gets mad at me at times but she supports my insanity very well.

My "ex" wife hated the croc's, she always said I cared more about them than her, lol ... thinking back, she was probably right

Now, strange as it might be I hear she is keeping some gators, lol ... she called a while back and left a message asking if she could use "our" business license and "our" contacts to help her get some croc's. Funny! I never called her back even though I was a little curious.
