Beautiful snakes Jerry. I've got a nice 07' light tan isabel coming next week. Can't wait. I still can't figure out why these snakes aren't more popular.

Maybe they'll get more popular if the ban on large constrictors eventuates?

Yo J-Dawg!,......I remember when Mike Layman first came over my house with that nice white one you eventually got that was featured on the cover of the Reptiles magazine many years ago. I remember Mike never let her head go when he was holding her in my living room,.....he said she was pure "hell-on-wheels"!

Is that one Isabel still around or what?? I would imagine that one is responsible for a good number of the Isabels seen in the hobby today.

LOL...HEY DOUG...THAT FEMALE IS LONG GONE...SHE WOULD BE 25 YEARS OLD OR OLDER NOW...SHE DID BREED FOR ME SEVERAL TIMES AND PRODUCED SOME AWESOME WHITE OFFSPRING...MINE ARE BREEDING NOW AND I HOPE TO HAVE BABIES IN THE FALL...SEE YOU AT EXPO!..JERRY

DMong Mar 18, 2010 12:13 PM

LOL!!,...yeah, I figured that was probably the case. Did she pass away for absolute sure?, or did you just simply sell her long ago?. She sure was a great looking specimen man!

Were there many like that in the hobby before she made the scene, or was she one of the first to hit the states?. As you know, my forte is definitely in colubrids for the most part.

In any case, yes, I'm surprised I didn't see you last year there, but it is tough to see everyone there in such little given time. Especially the way I stop and yack to everyone about snakes!

hope to see you there again bro!

BTW, I saw Dan Turner(Tar Pit Reptiles) at his shop in Melbourne not too long ago, and he apparently got out of the business commercially, and had most everything he had up for sale last year in a "going out of business" sale.

DMong Mar 19, 2010 03:33 PM

Wow!,....if I'm not mistaken(and I don't think I was), I was talking to his wife there at the store while he wasn't there the last time I visited. That is really sad to hear bro. It must have been VERY shortly after I was there...........geeez

Certainly not to cast that very sad news aside,..but what about that Isabel?. Give me some details man!!!!!

BTW, nice brood of little one's ya got there!
