size- 6 foot male. tank size- 2' wide, 3' high, 3 1/2' long. humidity 75%. temp, no lower then 81 degrees.
picked him up mid December. last shed, Jan 20th. since ive picked him up, has only ate once. I have tryed live and frozen at least once a week. very active in the tank. seems to just want out. alot of nose and head rubbing on the face of the tank. im afraid that some mouth rot has accrued. for a week I have been mixing mouth wash in the water dish.

my question. 1, why is he not interested at all in food? 2, if there is a mouth problem do I continue with the mouth wash? 3, is it possible he is looking to mate?

My 8 1/2 ft female will go off food for about 3 to 4 months from dec to mar. She also will become somewhat more active at this time and seems to stay around the cooler side of her cage. I wouldn't worry to much, mine has done this since I got her and goes back on food at her leisure.

thanks man. shes a pretty one! do you crank up the heat at all while she doesnt eat? also, is there any way of treating an upper respiratory problem without a vet visit? im noticing some wheezing sounds from him but no major build up of fluid yet.

I keep (2) 60watt ceramic heat bulbs on in a vision 632. When she goes of feed she will spend alot of time at the cool end of her cage. She doesn't have a wheeze but a real audible hissing sound when I have her out or if I disturb her. She is about the easiest python to handle and shows no interest in biting but is as vocal a snake as I have ever had. Usually a mild RI can be aided by bumping the temp up and correcting or changing humidity. I've only had RI in some Ball Pythons and was able to move them to a smaller tank with warmer ambient temp for about a week or two with a temp of 90-95 on the warm side.Hope this helps some.
