I'm not sure how much of this goes on in the glades. I am aware of it going on in the Ocala forest. I don't know about you but I think (in fact I KNOW) I would rather stumble across a burm in the glades rather than some booby trapped pot patch (which actually DOES destroy habitat.) guarded by an armed illegal aliens. It kind of makes you wonder why the USDI and the Forrest Service aren't looking more heavily into this than pythons. Perhaps it's because the politicians have figured out how to get illegal aliens to vote and they haven't figured out how to get pythons to do the same yet.
