I got the gargoyle as a male, but now I am wondering if "he" is actually a female. I know it is supposed to be simple to sex them, but this one falls between my female and male as far as bulge size.

Just from the picture I'd say female but you didn't give us the age or a better vent picture.Females can have a fatty vent area.

Age is unknown. I was told "he" (I am still leaning towards female)was under a year old when I got him about 2 months ago, however I believe he/she may be over a year old. I am really believeing female, as I have a younger group and one of them is looking more male than this one. I have also had a hard time getting better pics.
