Okay so I've talked to a few different people and they've all told me different. Basicly does a leopard gecko need to have a lamp on their cage or will a heatmat be enough? Let me know thanks.

I prefer to use a heating pad, But you could use a lamp. But a heating pad is all thats really needed.

Its really not the light itself they need. Since they are nocturnal, they only need the heat from the lamp, not the light from it. The heating pad should be used over the lamp though since leos get most of their heat through their bellies.
