sexing my chameleon???

Reaperreptiles09 Mar 11, 2010 08:45 PM

sorry this is my first veiled chameleon, my fiancee has had one before. i recently bought a male high orange juvenile. i was told it was a male by the breeder and im not trying to discredit them but im not seeing any spurs! and if they are there they arent very noticeable. hes about 5 inches snout to tip of tail (bout 3in STV) are there any other charectoristics? should the spurs be visible by now? and can somebody describe these spurs in a little more detail?

thanks a bunch

The spurs should be noticeable. Look at his hind feet. At the center of the back side of each foot (where the fused toes separate) you should see a nub like a vestigial toe without a nail. Do a search on male veileds and look at photos. There should be many around.
