Subtrate in lizards mouth

KyleMD Mar 13, 2010 10:43 AM

I fear that while feeding one of my green ameiva's may have gotin a piece of cypress ulch stuck between the outter lip and the gums/teeth. What should I do? Take him to the vet, try to get it out myself or do you think it will just fall out eventually?

See if he'll let you take it out and then clean the area with a bit of peroxide or listerine. It should be OK, but keep an eye out for any signs of mouth rot and get it to a vet if any problems arise.
